IKATS In a few of Thailand's remotest villages, there remain families who still uphold traditional hand weaving methods going back centuries. On the most basic wooden looms, highly intricate patterns are achieved after a time-consuming and painstaking 'Tie & dye' process to set the design into each thread of home-spun silk. In Thai, this is called MUDMEE weaving but it may also be referred to as Ikat. Most of the designs reflect nature and have symbolic meaning to these skilled artisans. Pricing & weaving lead times on application - Retail and wholesale commissions undertaken.
